The musical, inspired by the animated film, based on the ancient myth.
It’s what classical civilisation would have wanted.
Ancient Greece. A time of gods, mortals… and Hercules, who isn’t quite either. But if he’s not a god, how can he possibly save the world from Hades? It’s one thing flexing those pecs, but going from zero to hero requires a different kind of strength.
Get ready for a wise-cracking, column-shaking, underworld-rocking ride of adventure, self-discovery, and love. In tunics.
Directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, with music by Alan Menken, lyrics by David Zippel a brand-new book by Robert Horn and Kwame Kwei-Armah, and co-choreography by Tanisha Scott, Disney’s Hercules delivers a thrilling night out that leaves you ready to conquer Mount Olympus.
Dive into the underworld with Disney’s new West End musical, Hercules.

Who is performing at National Lottery's Big Night of Musicals 2025?
You may have done the double - seeing a matinee and an evening show in one day - but have you ever done a decagon? Well now’s your chance to watch ten of the very best musicals all in one evening, and you don’t even have to move from your sofa to complete this epic musical marathon. Win-Win.
Now in its fourth dazzling year, The National Lottery’s Big Night of Musicals is as frequent as a 2:22: A Ghost Story revival. This year, the show is pulling out all the stops as it celebrates 30 years of National Lottery funding for the arts. With over 20,000 theatre-related projects supported, it’s only right that we celebrate this standing-ovation-worthy milestone with some of the UK’s biggest West End productions. But who will be taking part?
Hosting the spectacle will be the Big Night of Musicals leading man Jason Manford. The comedian is no stranger to the stage, having starred in The Producers, Sweeney Todd, and Guys and Dolls. He’s joined by a stellar lineup of performers, including the legendary Michael Ball, powerhouse Olivier nominee Marisha Wallace, and Broadway sensation Billy Porter. The show, filmed at Manchester’s AO Arena in front of a roaring crowd of 12,000, promises unforgettable moments, jaw-dropping vocals, and a few surprises along the way.
Marisha Wallace delivers a spellbinding rendition of "Maybe This Time" from Cabaret, the iconic song previously helped Liza Minnelli win an Oscar and Emma Stone an Olivier. Wallace, who currently stars in the role at London’s Kit Kat Club, previously dazzled audiences with her stand-out performances in Dreamgirls, Guys and Dolls, and Oklahoma!. Meanwhile, WhatsOnStage award winner and Olivier nominee, Layton Williams, injects a dose of outrageous fun with Titanique, the campy, Celine Dion-fueled parody that’s been a surprise smash hit. Given Williams' past as Everybody’s Talking About Jamie and Bad Education’s scene-stealer, expect no shortage of high kicks and hilarity.

15 things to do in London at night
There is such a thing as too much choice. And London is a fine example of that. When you’re planning a big trip into the big smoke, it can be overwhelming. Let us help guide you. Below are 15 of the best things to do in London at night so you can concentrate on your travel plans and not worry about your entertainment plans.
See a musical
The West End has the best musicals. We’re talking worldwide. So don’t waste this trip to London. Book a show. You can see everything from Why Am I So Single? to Les Misérables. Want to take a trip back in time? Why not see the multi-award-winning Hamilton? There are so many amazing shows to see. And coming to London and not seeing a musical is like going to Italy and not eating pasta.
Enjoy an immersive dining experience
One of the ultimate things to do in London at night is dinner and a show. Why not combine them?
Step into the outrageous and interactive Faulty Towers the Dining Experience to get a taste of the iconic British TV show. Join the accident-prone hotelier and his band of misfits as they make you cackle with glee and serve you a three-course meal.
You don’t have to fly to Greece to get a taste of the Med. Just venture to Zone 2. Join the festivities at the ABBA spectacular MAMMA MIA! The Party. You can dance, you can dine, you can have the time of your life at this immersive dining experience based on the classic movie. Enjoy a four-course meal while actors and dancers entertain you, then become the dancing queen at a post-dinner disco.
Go celebrity spotting
When you’re in a big city like London, you’re never too far from a famous face. But if you have celebrity spotting in mind, we have a super easy trick for you. Book a ticket to their show. At the moment, Jodie Whittaker is in The Duchess at Trafalgar Theatre, David Tennant is starring in Macbeth at the Harold Pinter Theatre, Mark Strong is in Oedipus at Wyndham’s Theatre, Mathew Baynton is in A Midsummer’s Night Dream at the Barbican, Lily Collins is in Barcelona, Steve Coogan is in Dr. Strangelove at the Noël Coward, Vanessa Williams in The Devil Wears Prada at the Dominion Theatre, and Mark Rylance is in Juno and the Paycock at the Gielgud Theatre! Phew
And it doesn’t end there! There are loads of other star-studded shows coming up in 2025.
Go to the circus
Practise those oohs and aahs because you can see one of the best circus acts on the planet right here in London. Cirque du Soleil will be returning to the Royal Albert Hall in January 2025. So not only are you seeing a world-class show, you’ll get to visit an iconic landmark.
See some stand-up
There are plenty of comedy clubs in London. From The Comedy Store to The Top Secret Comedy Club, you can see up-and-comers alongside some of the biggest names in Giggle Town. But if you want to guarantee seeing your fav, why not book their special?
Billy Bailey’s Thoughtifier will be playing at the Theatre Royal Haymarket and Sandi Toksvig and the QI elves will be at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
Have a laugh at a comedy
If stand-up isn’t your thing, but you still want a laugh, why not book tickets to a comedy show? From improv musicals such as Showstopper! The Improvised Musical to farcical nonsense like The Play That Goes Wrong, a comedy show is one of the best things to do in London at night.
Get a bit cheeky with some adult entertainment
For the hen parties. For the girls’ nights out. For the boys’ nights out. For the sheer hell of it, head to Magic Mike Live at the Hippodrome Casino. The stage adaptation of the hit film will raise the temperature on those cold city nights.
Go to a concert
If music be the food of love, play on! You can see the superstars at the O2 or Wembley, or - for a more affordable option - you can experience a state-of-the-art performance featuring the superstars of yesteryear. At ABBA Voyage, you can see the fab four perform as incredible holograms. It’s a unique experience.
Be moved by a play
London isn’t just home to the best musicals. It’s home to the best plays, too. From the longest-running show in the world, The Mousetrap, to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, there’s something for every taste on the West End.

Hercules has found its hero! Initial West End casting confirmed
From zero to hero, the West End production of Disney’s Hercules has found their demigod and, with a Grammy nomination and a hit West End show already under his belt(ed toga), he’s sure to go the distance!
It has today been confirmed that Luke Brady will take on the title role in the show when it comes to London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Directed by Casey Nicholaw, the West End production follows the titular hero (and the ultimate nepo baby) as he competes in a series of labours to claim his birthright and strength, while pitted against the villainous Hades. Much loved musical numbers from the film include “Go The Distance”, “Zero to Hero” and “I Won't Say (I’m In Love),” are set to appear in the musical adaptation.
Anne Quart, executive producer of Disney Theatrical Group, explained why Luke was the hero they were looking for: “After a wide and exhaustive search, we are thrilled to announce Luke as Hercules. His remarkable depth as an actor delivers all the weight and power the character demands, but it’s his magnetism and presence that elevate this mythic character into a relatable young man, finding his way in the world and learning what it means to be human. The Hercules team has fallen in love with him and know that audiences will feel the same.”
Nicholaw continued: “In a search that took us across the globe, we have found our perfect hero in Luke, and I look forward to working with him over the coming months to develop the much-loved character of Hercules. We can’t wait for him to lift the roof at Theatre Royal Drury Lane.”
Brady recently played Orlando in the Royal Shakespeare Company's As You Like It. His previous credits include; Jay in SuperYou at the Lyric Theatre, Giuseppe in Assassins at Chichester Festival Theatre and Moses in The Prince of Egypt at the Dominion Theatre. He also killed it alongside Kenneth Branagh, Judi Dench and Penélope Cruz in the 2017 film adaptation of Murder on the Orient Express.
